Art – 5th millennium BC vase from Iran

cone
Beautifully preserved ceramic cone-shaped vase from the Chalcolithic Period (late 5th millennium BC), from Tall-i Bakum (not far from Persepolis), Iran.
– In all probability, this 20 cm high vase was used to store or serve liquids. Other similar artefacts found suggest the top could be sealed with clay.
– Via the Metropolitan Museum of Art, NY.
