Tarte aux pommes à la manière alsacienne

A sweet and simple idea for an afternoon treat.

1- Place some dough of “pâte feuilletée” (puff or multilayer pastry dough) at the bottom of a baking dish, and make a few marks with a fork.
2- In a large dish mix together: two eggs, half a cup of brown sugar, 200 ml of crème fraîche (you can use heavy cream) and a few drops of vanilla extract. Set aside. 
3- Wash, peel and cut in thin slices three or four apples. Arrange the slices as you wish on the dough. (This should be done at the end so that the apples do not darken). Pour the liquid on top and sprinkle with a little bit of brown sugar. 
4- Bake in a low to medium oven for 45 minutes. It is better to bake this tart on a low setting to avoid the filling becoming too caramelized.
