Confiture de figues

I just made this delicious fig jam. Believe me. once you make your own jam, you will never want to buy it anymore. It is rather easy and takes just a little bit of effort and very fresh fruits.


1- In a large pan, place one kilogram of figs (black or green), well washed with the tails cut. You can either cut the figs in half or in quarters depending on your preference.
2- Add 700 gr. of sugar. Mix with a wooden spoon and let it stand covered for one hour.
3- Bring the pot on medium fire to a boil while mixing. Reduce the heat until it simmers and continue mixing with a wooden spoon for 20 minutes. That’s the heavy duty part so put some nice music and smile!
4- You know the jam is done once you put a few drops on a plate, tilt it and the liquid does not run.
5- As soon as it is done, place the jam in prepared glass jars (rinsed with boiling water and left to dry). Close tight, let it cool down and place in the fridge for 24 hours.
